Ο Μιχάλης Τσαντίλας είναι τραγουδοποιός, μουσικοκριτικός και ηλεκτρονικός μηχανικός.
Γεννήθηκε το 1978 στην Αθήνα και μεγάλωσε στο Γεράκι Λακωνίας, στο Αμβούργο Δυτικής Γερμανίας και στη Σπάρτη. Στα σχολικά του χρόνια σπούδασε γαλλικά και πιάνο, εξέδωσε τη δική του εφημερίδα με τη βοήθεια του αδερφού του, Στυλιανού, έφτιαξε το πρώτο του ροκ συγκρότημα και ξεκίνησε να γράφει τραγούδια.
Το 2002 πήρε το πτυχίο του Ηλεκτρονικού Μηχανικού Τ.Ε. από το Α.Τ.Ε.Ι. Χανίων και συνεχίζει τις σπουδές του στο τμήμα Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Υπολογιστών του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου. Από τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2017 διδάσκει ηλεκτρολογία, ηλεκτρονική και πληροφορική στη Δημόσια Δευτεροβάθμια Εκπαίδευση.
Η πρώτη του δημόσια εμφάνιση ως τραγουδοποιός έγινε το 2007, οπότε και συμμετείχε στον τελικό του Φεστιβάλ Νέων Δημιουργών Κοζάνης με το τραγούδι "Και Τι Μ' Αυτό;". Το 2009, το τραγούδι του "Wayward Blues" συμπεριλήφθηκε στη διεθνή συλλογή Rock 4 Life International Volume 14 που κυκλοφόρησε από την αμερικανική εταιρεία Quickstar Productions και το 2011, ένα ακόμα τραγούδι του, με τίτλο "Μέσα Στον Πυρετό", βρήκε μια θέση στη συλλογή Αινίγματα Και Μυστικά 2 που διανεμήθηκε δωρεάν από την Underground Tapes. Η πρώτη του προσωπική δουλειά, με τίτλο Σκιά Στο Μυαλό, κυκλοφόρησε τον Ιούνιο του 2012 από τον Μετρονόμο ενώ το 2015 ήρθε η ανεξάρτητη έκδοση του αγγλόφωνου EP What You See Is Just A Lie.
Το 2007 δημιούργησε το μπλογκ Δέντρο Μοναχό ενώ το 2008 άρχισε η συστηματική ενασχόλησή του με τη μουσική δημοσιογραφία, η οποία συνεχίζεται μέσω συνεργασιών με διάφορα διαδικτυακά και έντυπα περιοδικά του χώρου. Κείμενα, επιστολές και φωτογραφίες του έχουν κατά καιρούς δημοσιευτεί στα ηλεκτρονικά περιοδικά Ορφέας, Mix Grill, Avopolis, LiFO, Το Υπόγειο, και στα έντυπα SONIK, ΣΑΣΤέΗΝ, Δίφωνο, Μετρονόμος, Manifesto και Σπάιντερ-Μαν. Από τον Απρίλιο του 2017 είναι ο αρχισυντάκτης του περιοδικού SONIK. Επίσης, συμμετείχε, κάνοντας τη δημοσιογραφική επιμέλεια, στην ταινία Markos Delivorias: The Many Faces Of An Unsuccesful Songwriter (2013) που σκηνοθέτησε ο Θωμάς Κατσικαδάκος. Το 2014-'15 παρουσίασε, από κοινού με την Κατερίνα Μπαλλίνη, την εκπομπή Κοντραπούντο, στο Μεταδεύτερο, ενώ το 2016-'17 επιμελήθηκε και παρουσίασε την εκπομπή Δισκοβόλος, στον ίδιο σταθμό.

Michalis Tsantilas is a singer-songwriter, music critic and electronics engineer.
He was born in 1978 in Athens and grew up in Geraki Lakonias, Hamburg West Germany and Sparti. During his school years he studied French and piano, published his own newspaper with the help of his brother, Stylianos, formed his first rock band and started writing songs.
In 2002, he got a degree of electronics engineering from A.T.E.I. Chanion and continues his studies in the School of Electrical And Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. Starting from September 2017, he teaches electrical, electronics and computer enginnering in public schools of the secondary education.
His first appearance as a songwriter took place In 2007, when he participated in the final of the New Creators Festival Of Kozani with the song "Kai Ti M' Afto?". In 2009, his song "Wayward Blues" was included in the international collection Rock 4 Life International Volume 14 which was distributed by the american company Quickstar Productions and in 2011, another song of his, titled "Mesa Ston Pyreto", found a place in the collection Ainigmata Kai Mystika 2 which was distributed freely by Underground Tapes. His first personal album, titled Skia Sto Myalo, was released in June 2012 by Metronomos and in 2015 came the independent release of an english EP titled What You See Is Just A Lie.
In 2007, he created the Dentro Monaho blog and in 2008 he started his systematic pursuit of? music journalism which continues through his collaboration with various electronic and printed media of the field. Texts, letters and photographs of his have been published by the electronic magazines Orfeas, Mix Grill, Avopolis, LiFO, To Ypogeio, and by printed editions of SONIK, Sustain, Difono, Metronomos, Manifesto and Spider-Man. From April 2017, he is the editor-in-chief of SONIK magazine. He also participated in the making of the film Markos Delivorias: The Many Faces Of An Unsuccesful Songwriter (2013), directed by Thomas Katsikadakos. In 2014-'15 he co-hosted, along with Katerina Ballini, the radio show Contrapunto, in Metadeftero internet radio station, and in 2016-'17 he hosted the radio show Diskovolos, in the same station.
